The weeping statue of the Immaculate Conception

February 25, 2001 - Suzy Vardanian from Australia writes: Our Holy Mother, the statue of the Immaculate Conception, has been weeping since 14th of September, in the mean time the statue exudes this strong Heavenly perfume. Please pray in a special way. We have been praying the rosary, the Consecration of the Two Hearts prayer and the Daily Prayers for the world's peace.

Our Lady's message in Medjugorje on February 25, 2001 was:

"Dear children! This is a time of grace. That is why pray, pray, pray until you comprehend God's love for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call."

The first part of this message seems to be relevant to the contents of the following email, received from Suzy and Avo Vardanian in Australia a couple of days ago. However, first, a little background information may be helpful. On December 8th, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, last year, a Catholic friend of Suzy (who is an Orthodox) visited her to show her a statue of Our Lady which she had just bought as a gift for a relation. While Suzy viewed the statue, her Catholic friend suddenly said out loud what she suddenly felt within her - that the statue must stay in Suzy's house. Suzy, slightly reluctantly, eventually agreed to this and noted that the friend was now a little annoyed as she realised she was going to have to find another gift for her relation! Suzy placed the statue at the centre of a little altar.

Vassula has just completed a visit to Papua New Guinea and will now travel on to Australia for a 10 day visit. There have been many severeand repeated problems with the arrangements for the meetings arrangedduring this visit. Suzy and Avo have overall esponsibility forVassula's visit to Australia. Suzy sent the message, below, on February 24th. The statue is continuing to weep.

Dear TLIG friends, Just a word of encouragement, Our Mother has come to us this afternoon with her tearful eyes. Her statue of the Immaculate Conception on our altar, started weeping this afternoon around 5:00 pm. I think She wants us to know that She is behind all this operation with a heavy pain in Her Heart. Let us stay joined in the Holy Spirit and the Two Hearts that are leading us in this battle. May God bless you all, and Our Lady keep you in Her Immaculate Heart. Avo and Suzy Vardanian

August 24th 2001 This letter comes from Avo Vardanian in Australia "Our Blessed Mother has stopped weeping via her statue of the Immaculate Conception that stands on our small altar in the family room - annex kitchen, but what has remained even until today, since she started weeping on 24 February 2001, is a strong sweet smelling fragrance of roses that continues to be radiated from the base of the statue and her left foot. The remaining parts of the statue do not radiate any fragrance, just the base and her left foot.

But this is not the end of the story. What has been happening for quite some time now is that rosaries that are placed on the altar start giving off the same sweet fragrance of roses. The rosaries do not smell all the time, but on and off, very frequently, as if God is saying to those of us who still have doubts: "see... it is My Mother Who is giving you Her Beautiful Incense through the rosaries, and not someone from you who is rubbing the rosaries in with some kind of Ester Lauder".

I feel that God is giving us a small hint or guidance on the authenticity of His Presence. So what we do now is to place small (embroidered) handkerchiefs under the base of the statue that take over the strong smell of roses. Amen."
